The FAST-ACT pressurized cylinders contain FAST-ACT powder and can therefore be used against chemical vapors and liquid surface contamination, supporting decontamination operations and chemical hazard response.
Against which airborne chemicals have the FAST-ACT pressurized cylinders be tested?
The FAST-ACT pressurized cylinders have been tested against many industrial chemicals and toxic chemical vapors, inter alia Ammonia, Hydrogen Fluoride, Hydrogen Sulfide, Hydrogen Chloride, Ethylene Oxide, Sulfur Dioxide and Chlorine; field trials have been conducted using GB/Sarin, a nerve agent and chemical warfare agent. Test reports can be provided upon request.
Is the FAST-ACT powder safe to be released in air?
Yes, extensive inhalation tests have shown that FAST-ACT is non-toxic. The microscopic changes observed in the presence of this foreign material in the lungs were not considered toxic effects but were reflecting the natural processes whereby the body responds to foreign material. FAST-ACT is not a skin irritant, so any contact with the skin does not cause any health effects, supporting safe use during emergency response and decontamination applications.
